Q. Do you make solid hardwood floating shelving?
A. All our shelves are solid and come complete with real hardwood veneers. Hardwood shelves are stronger and more stable than standard hollow shelves so you don’t need to worry about twisting or cupping. They are more friendly on the environment too.
Q. Are the fixing brackets included?
A. Yes. All our floating shelves come complete with a concealed screw type fixing bracket. Please note. If you intend to fix your shelf to a cavity or plaster board wall OR you need the shelf to bear a weight in excess of 50 kilos you will need to order a special racket.
* Screw type bracket - Our most versatile bracket, we send out with all floating shelves, that are fixed to a solid wall and are up to 350mm deep.
* The Re-bar system - These are sent out when a floating shelf is ordered that needs to take more than the average weight, or the shelves are over 350mm deep.
* Plate bracket - These are sent out when the floating shelves are to be fixed on a cavity or plaster board wall, (please note this type reduces the weight load capacity considerably)
Q. What weight will my floating shelves hold?
A. Providing you are fixing to a solid wall and the shelves are installed correctly your floating shelves will hold up to 35 kg.
If you require your shelves to carry a heavier weight load you should request the re-bar system which will carry 50 kg. Please note that fixing into a cavity or plasterboard wall using plate brackets means weight limits are reduced by 7 kg
Q. How long will my order take to reach me?
A. Your floating shelves will usually be manufactured and shipped within two weeks.
Q. What are the floating shelves, made of?
A. All the paint sprayed floating shelves are manufactured from solid furniture-grade MDF. The hardwood floating shelves are made from solid MDF with veneers applied.
Q. My walls are plaster board can I still have floating shelves?
A. Yes, but you will need special brackets and the shelves will need to be carefully attached to the wall. Please call us for details.
Q. Your calculator only goes up to 3000mm long, 400mm deep and 50mm thick, is this the largest you do?
A. We are happy to create larger shelves to your exact specification. These larger shelves will have to be jointed which means extra labour charges and a longer lead time.
Q. Can I have lights within my floating shelves?
A. Yes, we can incorporate down-lighters, up-lighters and LED lighting within your floating shelves.
Q. Do you do any different shaped shelves?
A. Yes, please call to discuss.
Q. Do you colour match your floating shelves?
A. Yes, we can match your floating shelves to any Ral number, and we can also stain colour match. Please call 0207 903 5383 to discuss.
