Floating Shelves, Questions Answered.

Do you make solid hardwood floating shelving?

All our shelves, are solid and we use real hardwood veneers as we find they are a lot more stable (no twisting or cupping) and are more friendly on the enviroment.

Are the fixing brackets included?

Yes - your floating shelves will come complete with the correct concealed fixing bracket. They will be one of the following;

Screw type bracket - Our most versatile bracket, we send out with all floating shelves, that are fixed to a solid wall and are up to 300mm deep.
Plate bracket - These are sent out when the floating shelves are to be fixed on a cavity or plaster board wall, (please note this type reduces the weight load capacity considerably)
The re-bar system - These are sent out when a floating shelf is ordered that needs to take more than the average weight, or the shelves are over 300mm deep.

What weight will my floating shelves hold?

Providing you are fixing to a solid wall, the shelves are installed by a competent tradesmen and the fixing instructions are followed, the floating shelves will hold upto 35 kg.

If you require your shelves to carry a heavier weight load you can request to have the re-bar system that will carry 50 kg

When fixing into a cavity or plasterboard walls using plate brackets weight limits are reduced to 7 kg

How long will my order take to reach me?

We will aim to deliver your floating shelves within two weeks.

Self-paint shelves can be delivered usually slightly quicker between 7 and 10 days,

Special shelves that are longer than 2400mm have Lights in different shapes etc will be have a longer lead time.

What are the floating shelves, made of?

All sprayed floating shelves are solid furniture grade Mdf.

All hardwood veneered floating shelves are still solid Mdf but with the veneers applied.

My walls are plaster board can I still have floating shelves,?

Yes, but please tell us and we will advise.

Your calculator only goes up to 3000mm long, 400mm deep and 50mm thick, is this the largest you do?

We are happy to do larger shelves, but these will have to be jointed and will incur extra labour charges.

Can I have lights within my shelves?

Yes, we can incorporate down-lighters, up-lighters and LED lighting within your floating shelves.
